Integrity and Transformation Linked

If we desire to transform our relationships, we have to transform ourselves. In order to do that we have to be in integrity. Integrity is being our word. Our word is all we have, and, in transformation our word creates our world. Language creates consciousness. So, first and foremost it’s our integrity with our self that’s the key to transformation. How many broken promises do we make with ourselves? Hmmmm, I suspect many. When we understand that giving our word to ourselves is paramount to transformation of our relationships, we are freed from victimhood and blame. And, that energy of integrity influences others to transform. “Be the change (transformation) you want to see in the world.” Pretty wise words from Gandhi who demonstrated powerfully that his word creates his world. Here’s the really good news, it’s a piece of cake to be in integrity with others when we are in integrity with ourselves! Yippie! Now is it easy to always be our word? No. As human beings we are going in and out of keeping our word. However, honoring our word is what restores our integrity. As soon as we know we are not going to keep our promise or word, we contact the person and restore our integrity. That is honoring our word. Being our word is doing what we say were going to do when we said we were going to do it. I guarantee if we become present to being and honoring our word, with others and ourselves, our relationships will transform with integrity, responsibility, and generosity. Almost like magic!
